Our college library uses an ILS that does not give us enough flexibility to meet the needs or expectations of our students and staff. We have been investigating other catalog/circulation systems, such as Polaris, and would like to learn more about open source systems.
Is there something that can be adopted by smaller libraries with limited funds? Are there ways to outsource some of the technical expertise?
Are there systems that have much more flexible search capabilities that our patrons have come to expect?
